Italian designer Stefano Map of Vasconcelos (Stefano Carta Vasconcellos), received the first prize of SaloneSattelite 2018. The authoritative jury noted his “light” prefabricated kitchen.
The furniture of Vasconellos is really light in a literal and figurative sense. The designer has found a way to offer a universal and affordable way when the item is cheap, compact and can be assembled quickly and easily in any conditions – without screws, nuts, bolts, etc. So, the kitchen unit consists of seven elements. They are, according to the instructions, connected together to resemble a three-dimensional puzzle. Prospects for such products for the interior in the trend of microliving are collosal.
Stefano was born in Brazil, in Italy he graduated from the Department of Economics and Design in the IED Istituto Europeo di Design. In 2013, he founded the design studio Stefano Carta Vasconcellos, since 2015 he has been conducting a product design course in Istituto Europeo di Design and has become an expert in the field of digital technologies in the research program of Sardegna Ricerche, a technology research agency in the Sardinia region.
In his workshop, he produces a lot of things – from cutlery to stools and tables, creating the company Celer furniture – “100% individual furniture.” The peculiarity of the way of designing Vasconcelos is that it is initially tuned for customization.
“Each subject of Celer furniture is created taking into account the needs of the client: it is designed with parametric logic, therefore without standard dimensions. This means that any change in size does not lead to an increase in value. This allows us to satisfy any special request with great ease. “
