New fragrances of this spring with a non-trivial set of notes were created for connoisseurs of complex flavors. The best of them is in the review Kommersant Stil.

Good news for everyone who is not ready to broadcast the “pop” notes of floral scents: many famous brands did not delay the launch of unusual perfumes for winter time, but offer to wear them now. Frankincense, sandalwood, suede, patchouli, pepper are the main characters in the modern perfume forefront. Wear them urgently, despite the heat: lovers of this kind of perfume compositions will be noticed in the society. Is not this the ultimate goal and the main intrigue?

Designer Martin Marjela for the first time starring in a documentary about himself

One of the most mysterious designers of our time (there are only a couple of his unofficial portraits on the net!) Martin Marja will appear to the general public for the first time. Directed by Rainer Holzmer – the one that filmed the tape about another Belgian talent Driss van Notene – will release a documentary about Martin. Variety writes that it will be called “No compromises”, will be released in 2019 and will be the complete opposite of the film “We Margiela”, which is more focused not on the personality of the designer, but on his team.

Recall, Martin – a graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, who worked as an assistant with Jean-Paul Gaultier, and after, in 1998, founded the brand Maison Martin Margiela. Its signature feature was the elements of deconstructionism: uneven skirts, slanting seams, deformed silhouettes, which the current creative director of the brand John Galliano is now bringing to the collection.

Famous girls who buy everything in a row

Gwen Stefani

Why do unrestrained shopping owner own fashion brand, you ask? Gwen has the answer: there are not many things. And it does not matter how much they cost: the singer equally cool and wears evening dresses for several thousand dollars, and T-shirts from Zara. Moreover, it is rumored that Stephanie is looking for second-hand clothes all over the world, and there it comes off completely (packets of stores then have to be taken out by the whole world). As for shopping in large, then here Gwen admits in his boundless love for Vivienne Westwood. “You know, when I come to London, I start to behave like a typical star: I just go to the boutique and buy everything that comes to hand. Just love Vivienne! “- says Gwen.

Blake Lively

In this sense, the actress is somewhat reminiscent of her heroine Serena from the series “Gossip Girl”: she does not think to hide that she has already suffered from attacks of shopaholism for a long time. True, Blake does not buy dresses with skirts or even bags, but … jeans. The girl admits that she already has about 50 pairs, but she does not intend to stop. “Here’s a lifhak from me: buy jeans for size smaller. First, they perfectly stretch. Well, and secondly, this is the coolest motivation, is not it? “- advises the actress. Motivate us: Blake does not advise bad!

Sarah Jessica Parker

“I reason thus: why should I, a workaholic, not reward myself with another pair of shoes? – the actress shares. “I do not have to persuade myself for a long time: I have a huge number of pairs from Manolo Blahnik, and this collection grows every month.” Parker admits that he can already run a marathon though he can go to the gym: the habit is a strong thing.

Act, sister: Donatella Versace – about the power, popularity and supermodels of the 1990s

The house of Versace celebrates its 40th anniversary. Donatella Versace dedicated the jubilee spring-summer display of the brand to her legendary brother. We asked her what contribution Gianni had made to the fashion world and whether it was easy to collect all the supermodels of the 1990s on the same podium.

The Versace Spring-Summer 2018 show was perhaps the most discussed during the fashion week in Milan. The guests saw everything that the fashion house is known: leopard print and baroque curls, ultra-short dresses and boots on a stunning hairpin. However, a real surprise was waiting for everyone in the final, when Donatella came out with Naomi Campbell, Carla Bruni, Helena Christensen, Cindy Crawford and Claudia Schiffer. In tight-fitting gold dresses and golden sandals, the supermodels seem to have come down from the famous picture: backstage show Gianni Versace, autumn-winter-1993/94. This collection Donatella not only dedicated to her beloved brother, but also proved that she deserved the trust and worthy of the name Versace.

– It’s hard to be Donatella Versace?

“I think it’s not harder than being someone else.” Despite what you see on my social networks, I have quite an ordinary life: I swear with my children, get irritated at work because of the burden of responsibility that lies on my shoulders, I have ups and downs, but this is life !! However, I realize that I am a privileged person: I have an amazing family and a favorite job that gives me the opportunity to travel around the world and get acquainted with interesting people. The role of the creative director of the brand attracts me a lot of attention, even when I do not want it, but I’m not complaining, because these are the rules of the game. But thanks to popularity, I have the opportunity to influence the opinions of others – I hope, in a positive way. For some it’s a burden, for me it’s a gift. I am a happy woman and I thank for it every day.

– How would you describe yourself?

“Curiosity is one of my main features.” I quickly get bored, so I’m constantly looking for something new. It is for this reason that I surround myself with young talented people from all over the world – from them I learn about new trends, artists, trends in music. And I’m very determined: if I want to achieve something, then no difficulties will stop me on the way to the goal.

– Can you call yourself a strong woman?

– Now yes, but before – definitely not. I have significantly changed over the past 20 years. Everything that happened to Gianni, what my family experienced with its loss, was very painful. I felt incredible pressure: I had to prove that I could be better than him, or at least the same, to be worthy of Versace. I wanted to escape, hide from everyone, but I had to keep my face – for the sake of the family and the company. Although I was unbearably ill. Until recently, I felt that the past was following me, but thanks to the jubilee collection the circle was closed: I accepted my past and realized that I deserved trust.

– Looking back, at everything you did, at what point are you particularly proud of?

– I’m not one of those people who like to look back, remember old victories or defeats. Of course, I’m proud of everything that I managed to do for Versace, but all thoughts are directed to the future, and I want to be proud of the victories that await me ahead.

– How does your own style differ from Gianni’s style?

– It’s hard to say, because Gianni always influenced me: since childhood he loved dressing me, inventing images, I was his favorite doll. He always encouraged me and my bold antics, so it’s difficult to determine where the line between him and my style lies. By the way, it was he who persuaded me to become a platinum blonde – although at that time I was only 11 years old.

– How did Gianni Versace change the fashion world?

– His contribution is invaluable. He believed that fashion is not just clothes, it’s a way of expressing oneself. My brother was courageous, resolute, for which he was often criticized, but this is the reverse side of the genius: he was too ahead of his time. Religious symbols, leather things with laser perforations, draperies, surplus prints – think about it, all this Gianni did in the early 1990’s. He created a world in which rule number one is the absence of any rules.

– What has changed in the fashion house of Versace, when the Gianni era has ended?

– There have been many changes, and all of them are related to the fact that we needed to remain relevant and meet the demands of customers. The most important drivers are now the Internet and social networks. Not only for us, for the whole industry. Everything became superfast. But despite this, some things are unchanged: first of all, that we position Versace as a family fashion house, this is our DNA.

Act, sister: Donatella Versace - about the power, popularity and supermodels of the 1990s

– Tell us about the display of the jubilee collection of spring-summer – 2018, which you dedicated to your brother.

– I had long cherished this idea, but until last year I was not ready – I just felt that I could not touch the archives. It seemed to me that if I used them, they would immediately say to me: “Look, she is copying her brilliant brother!” But she stopped doubting even after the young top models started asking where they could find Jeanne jeans with a print or a shirt. Then I saw the delight of my team when I started working on the collection. It really was the right time. Of course, I can not access the archives every season, but I want to give the young generation an opportunity to learn what Gianni did and how he was.

– It was your idea – to invite to participate in the display of the legendary models?

– Yes, it was my idea. When you think about Gianni, you immediately remember the phenomenon of supermodels: he was the first one made from celebrity models. I remember when I worked on the collection, I sent every SMS with a proposal to participate in the show and immediately received a positive response. It was very exciting. With each of them I am friendly, they are part of our family, it would be wrong to not call them. As a result, at the show we again plunged into the powerful energy of the 90s.

– And what do you remember about the models that changed the world?

“I remember how everyone froze when they just showed up. They were personalities – that’s why Naomi, Christie, Cindy, Linda (Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista – RBC Style) remained cult. After them, no one had such a stunning success. Today, thanks to social networks, I see evidence that success can be repeated. Gigi, Bella, Kendall (Gigi and Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner – “RBC Style”) – these are the heroines of modern times, allowing through social networks to look into their world. This is what always mattered. The world of models is not only about beauty, it’s about life in general, about who you are.

– In your opinion, what do young people want from Versace today?

– Courage, sexuality, glamor. House Versace has always been a synonym for fearlessness and broke stereotypes – and I’m so proud of it. But I would also like to note that modern young people want absolutely everything – they are not ready to stop choosing one brand or style. Just look how they dress up the millenials: today they want gothic, tomorrow romance, and the day after tomorrow of sexuality. You are on the wrong track if you think you know what they want: they like to dress and change every day. Of course, this circumstance, on the one hand, complicates our work, and on the other – makes it exciting and makes us constantly move forward.

Act, sister: Donatella Versace - about the power, popularity and supermodels of the 1990s

– What is the starting point for your collections? Where do you get inspiration from?

– There is not one thing. My main source of inspiration is life itself. Everything that happens to me: the emotions that I receive during travel, the messages that people write to Instagram, or the photos they post, music, communication with my team. And, as I said before, I like being in the company of young people – it helps to be in the topic and learn new things.

– The whole world is watching you intently, while you yourself are reluctant to advertise your personal life. For you, privacy has always been more important than popularity?

– I would have formulated it differently: for me it has always been vital to remain sane and stand firm on the ground, and not to hang in the clouds. And it’s not as difficult as it might seem. And as for the popularity … Every morning I start with yoga, and then spend the whole day in the office, where I’m just the boss, and not Donatella Versace from the secular chronicle. My house and office are the safest places where I can be myself and say all kinds of nonsense, without fear that someone will judge me.

– At the same time you have a very popular account in Instagram, in which more than two and a half million subscribers.

– Instagram is a powerful tool, but I decide what to show off and what not. This is the secret of the balance between private life and public life. Instagram helps show another me – more fun and open. After all, usually everyone thinks that I’m cold and unapproachable, all because of the image that I myself once created. I like Instagram for his spontaneity, the ability to tell stories, but, believe me, I do not sit all day, checking the likes and loading posts, it’s just a game – no more.

All you need to know about the fashionable friendship of Audrey Hepburn and Hubert Jivanshi

On the birthday of the icon of style, we recall her iconic images in the cinema

All you need to know about the fashionable friendship of Audrey Hepburn and Hubert Jivanshi

Today, Audrey Hepburn, 89, would be an actress who could easily combine European chic and American sportiness, charming, elegant and endlessly bold – in the era of lush hairstyles, tight skirts, tight sweaters, in the era of Jane Russell and the corsages invented for her by Howard Hughes, Audrey Hepburn decided to go her own way and gave women a boyish haircut, fashioned ballet flats, high-necked sweaters, capri pants, waist-length belts and shirts tied at the waist to the bow. Cecil Biton wrote about her in Vogue: “Before World War II, no one was like her … now there were thousands of imitators.” And the day of her birth, we remember not only your favorite icon, but also her faithful companion in fashion – Huber Zhevanshi.

Hubert Zivanshi at work

In the summer of 1953 Audrey Hepburn was confirmed for her second major role – in the film “Sabrina” with William Holden and Humphrey Bogart. The director of the picture Billy Wilder sent a girl to Paris for clothes created by the French fashion designer, because according to the plot her heroine returns to America after spending a year in France. Then the glory of Cristobal Balenciaga was thundering, and at first Audrey wanted to order costumes for the film from him. But the great couturier was already great and did not find time on Audrey. And then she remembered the favorite of Balenciaga – the high aristocrat Hubert Zivanshi, who, by the way, agreed to a meeting only because he thought that it was a Hollywood star Katharine Hepburn.
At that time Zyvanshi was considered a relatively young fashion designer – he opened his French House only a year and a half ago. Nevertheless, Audrey was his big fan – she followed the work of Hubert ever since he was a pupil in the House of Elsa Schiaparelli.

Hubert Zivanshi and Audrey Hepburn on fitting

When they met, Hubert Zivanshi was 26, and Hepburn – 24, and they were like a brother and sister, are similar in their habits. Huber went up at seven in the morning and worked 14 hours a day: sketching, studying fabrics, choosing fittings, all on schedule. Audrey was no less organized, besides, she was very fond of clothes and, as it turned out later, she shared with Hubert his other passion – gardening.
On the day of their first meeting the designer refused to create suits for “Sabrina”, as he was too busy with his winter collection, and then Audrey persuaded him to allow her to choose something from the ready. So, in “Sabrina” appeared wool suit Oxford gray, white evening dress strapless, with a detachable organza train and a black dress of dense cotton – for a date with Linus Larrabi. And very soon the cutout, which perfectly suited her collarbones, which was too embarrassing for them, considering too bony, characteristic of the suits of Hubert Zhevanshi, was called “Sabrina’s neckline”.

Thus began their touching friendship. Hubert Zivanshi worked on all the stage costumes of Audrey – his name did not always appear in the credits, but the invariable author of her outfits was always the French fashion designer. Often he mailed his sketches to America, which later was sewed by the famous Edith Head – a Hollywood costume designer who dressed all the stars and social ladies of the time. It was her name that flaunted on the screen, and all because Hubert was not a member of the union of artists in costumes. And yet his famous black dress from “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” became the most expensive dress from the movie and was sold at auction for £ 467,200. Huber Givenchy dressed Audrey in the films “Funny Face”, “Love in the Afternoon”, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, “Sharada”, “Paris, when it’s hot” and “How to steal a million.”

Hubert dressed Audrey not only in the movies, but in life, and, of course, at the most important moments for him, he was near – dresses for the second wedding and the christening of her boys, as well as the baptismal dresses, sewed Zyvanshi. She became his muse. They were united by their love of clean lines and simple colors: “Only in his clothes I become myself,” Audrey told reporters in 1956. “He’s not just a couturier, he’s a creator of personality.”

Actual retro: we learn from the example of Reese Witherspoon

Actual retro: we learn from the example of Reese WitherspoonBackgrid/ Legion-Media; GC Images /GettyImages; Rexfeatures;

Today I want to illustrate Reese Witherspoon with an example of an interesting example of the retro-notes in an actual wardrobe. What is important is this example: Reese does not have any particular swings and bends, but this image and silhouette can be successfully copied and figure skating women. The result will be even better. Of course, the difficulty will be in picking the right jeans by the figure – such that this very difference between the waist and hips will be gracefully emphasized. But the result will be worth the trouble.

So, what is this in the image of Reese, that we unambiguously perceive as retro details? And what makes this image relevant with all the others?

Glasses

Actual retro: we learn from the example of Reese Witherspoon

In the first place for retro-raid glasses answer. They are here – an accent part that creates a mood. Such a “cat’s” form is now in the trend, so that two tasks are simultaneously solved: retro-stylization and “fit in today”. It is also important that the glasses do not work by themselves, but are part of the whole picture: hair-glasses-lipstick. Styling and lipstick give the same “frame”, which is slightly more careful than today’s “careless” images. In this case, if it were curls in the style of the fifties, it would look already too “heaped up” and deliberately, that is wrong.

Blouse

Actual retro: we learn from the example of Reese Witherspoon

A playful print, a white and red color scheme, a sleeve and cuff shape and, of course, a bow – full of retro.

Jeans

Actual retro: we learn from the example of Reese Witherspoon

They are here with a high waist and wide. By the way, it’s exactly such a plan of the model that Dita von Teese wears in those rare cases when she chooses jeans. But note that Reese model is more than relevant: the form of processing the bottom, as if ripped turns, the length is all those today’s ostomodnye details that bring the image in the category of the most relevant. And it is these details that prevent the actress from slipping into a costume retro drama.

Sandals on a wedge

Actual retro: we learn from the example of Reese Witherspoon

In some angles, this pair seems not the most successful solution in terms of proportions. But they are not here for proportions, but for creating a mood in the image. Their role is a reference to those times when women wore jeans only for a country picnic or a trip to the sea.

Hard Bag

Actual retro: we learn from the example of Reese Witherspoon

In such an image nothing “soft” would fit in at all.

In general, the whole story is that if you play retro-style (especially for figured women), do not forget that your reading of retro should actually be composed of actual things today. Well, on the contrary: even the most controversial and trendy trends can be beaten exactly as you need.

Holidays and +25 on the street have to be dressed up everyday: we’ve been wearing coats for too long. But in every wardrobe there should be a “lazy” outfit – one that does not suffer from choice and feel confident at the same time.

A one-color dress without any extra decor is ideal for this role. The most universal – midi-or maxi-length of jersey. You will find them in any mass market and with famous designers. Wear them with sneakers or bright sandals on a steady heel. In addition, they are best suited for sports images: add a belt bag and coarse sneakers, and this summer you will be the most fashionable. Strictly look dresses-shirts – safely put them in the office. However, white models can be seized on the sea. Upon return, such a dress will beautifully shade the tanned skin and remind you of the holiday. If the basic models you have, then take a look at the bright sarafans: they stably appear in all spring-summer collections, and even more elegantly they will be made by catchy mules.

To facilitate your collection in the morning, we collected 10 models for every taste and purse.
